These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of www.la-finery.com (the "Site") and the purchase of products from L. A Mercantile Ventures (Private) Limited ("we," "us," "our," or the "Company"). By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About Us
The Site is owned and operated by L. A Mercantile Ventures (Private) Limited, a company incorporated in Sri Lanka, trading as "La Finery." We sell ready-made silver and gemstone-studded jewellery to customers within Sri Lanka.
2. Eligibility
By using the Site, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, or are using the Site under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. You further confirm that any information you provide to us is accurate, current, and complete.
3. Products
All jewellery listed on the Site is ready-made, crafted from silver and genuine gemstones unless otherwise stated in the product description. We make reasonable efforts to display accurate colours, dimensions, and details of our products. However, due to the handmade and natural nature of gemstones and silver, slight variations in colour, size, weight, and stone inclusions are normal and do not constitute a defect. Product images are for illustrative purposes; actual items may vary slightly due to screen display settings and the natural characteristics of gemstones and metal. We reserve the right to limit quantities, discontinue products, or modify product descriptions and pricing at any time without prior notice.
4. Pricing and Payment
Prices displayed on the Site are shown in the currency corresponding to the country from which you are browsing, based on your detected location or selected region. This is provided for your convenience, and displayed prices may vary between countries or currencies. All prices are subject to change without notice. The final price charged to you will be the price displayed at checkout in your applicable currency at the time your order is confirmed. Currency conversion rates, where used, are updated periodically and may differ slightly from your bank's or card provider's own conversion rate at the time of payment. We reserve the right to correct any pricing errors, even after an order has been placed. If a pricing error is identified, we will notify you and give you the option to reconfirm your order at the correct price or cancel it with a full refund. Payment must be made in full at the time of order through the payment methods available at checkout. We use third-party payment processors, and by making a payment, you also agree to their applicable terms. Shipping costs are handled as set out in our Shipping Policy.
5. Order Acceptance
Placing an order on the Site constitutes an offer to purchase. All orders are subject to our acceptance and product availability. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order at our discretion, including in cases of suspected fraud, pricing errors, or unavailability of stock. If we cancel an order after payment has been received, we will issue a full refund.

Shipping timelines, costs, and conditions are governed by our Shipping Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
7. Returns and Refunds
Returns, exchanges, and refunds are governed by our Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary, refunds are only available for confirmed manufacturing faults; no refunds are offered for change of mind or damage caused by mishandling.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including but not limited to logos, product photography, designs, text, graphics, and the "La Finery" brand name and mark, is the property of L. A Mercantile Ventures (Private) Limited or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the Site without our prior written consent.
9. Gemstone and Precious Metal Compliance
We operate in compliance with applicable regulations of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority of Sri Lanka (NGJA) governing the sale and export of gem-set jewellery. Any certification, hallmarking, or authenticity documentation provided with a product will be as described on the relevant product listing.
10. User Accounts
If you create an account on the Site, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
11. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Site to:
Violate any applicable law or regulation. Infringe upon the intellectual property or other rights of the Company or any third party. Transmit any harmful code, malware, or engage in activity that disrupts the Site's functionality or security. Engage in fraudulent transactions or misuse of promotional offers.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, L. A Mercantile Ventures (Private) Limited shall not be liable for:
Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or products purchased. Delays or failures in delivery caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including courier delays, as further described in our Shipping Policy. Natural variations in gemstones, silver tarnishing, or wear resulting from normal use, as described in our Refund & Returns Policy.
Our total liability for any claim arising from your order shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant product.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless L. A Mercantile Ventures (Private) Limited, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Site.
14. Privacy
Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
